Some of our campaign volunteers had a highly successful “Drive for Life” in Byron, Ill. last month.
Following a press conference with Byron Mayor Scott Nason and hometown NFL player Scott Considine (#37 for the Philadelphia Eagles) community residents gathered at the Byron Fire Department to donate blood, learn about the National Marrow Donor Program and register as organ/tissue donors.
The Donate Life event proved to be a great success with the Rock River Valley Blood Center collecting over 280 units of blood. In addition, there were 801 marrow donor registrants and over 70 people that registered as organ/tissue donor’s in the state’s new registry!
I’ve posted a picture from the event below, way to go everyone!
