Countdown to Race Across America

A quick thanks to the Daily Southtown in Tinley Park, Illinois for running this excellent letter to the editor from Jarold Anderson, President & CEO of Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network. In addition, the results of a recent national study on public opinion and support for organ donation was released yesterday. You can read the article here and the full details and statistics in the official press release here.

Gear up Sunday for the start of the 26th Race Across America! Touted as the “World’s Toughest Bike Race” on their site, this year’s race will start in Oceanside, CA and end in Atlantic City, NJ around June 19-20. The 3,043-mile route takes riders through a grueling course with extreme elevation and climate changes. The organ donation community will be proudly represented in the race by Team Donate Life that features six different competing teams!

For those in Illinois, the race has time stations located in Greenville, Effingham and Marshall. Riders are scheduled to race through these locations on June 16-17. Be sure to keep an eye on the sites above for updates throughout the race. Also be sure to check out the following Team Donate Life blogs:
