National Minority Donor Awareness Day Celebration!

Hi Folks,

Sorry it’s been awhile, I wanted to share this post from Joslyn Osten, Sr. Public Education Coordinator at Gift of Hope, about the activities last week surrounding the celebration of National Minority Donor Awareness Day. Thanks Joslyn!

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network and the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois celebrated National Minority Donor Awareness Day on Wednesday, August 1st, by partnering with Church’s Chicken and Radio Arte 90.5 WRTE. WRTE lured community members to Church’s Chicken, on 1855 S. Blue Island Ave., by broadcasting on location.

Volunteers educated attendees about organ/tissue donation and registering in Illinois new donor registry, and offered free glucose and blood pressure screenings. The KidneyMobile® educated people on nutrition and the importance of maintaining healthy kidneys. With more than 200 participants, the event was very successful!
